Spanish and Central-American traces within Vienna
Since the 15th century the Habsburg had contact with the Aragonese house and each generation intensified the ties; sending back and forth brides was one form of connection, but more important were armed troops or gold and prominent artefacts of Central America. Thus, you find some amazing treasures of Spanish heritage: the State Hall of the National Library, as one example; homes of famous families along the roads as another; surely one of the most prominent collections of Meso-American origin within the Ethnological museum.
